Synopsis
Joaquín (13), an arrogant teenager, is taken along with his siblings Baltazar (8) and Aura (18) on vacation to the small town of Huacachina. An oasis in the middle of the desert, now rather run-down, where they will spend the summer with their great-aunt and great-uncle, Rosita (75) and Guille (60).
Newly arrived, Joaquín and his brother are invited to hunt lizards with the local boys, a group nicknamed “The Wild Boys.” During the hunt, Joaquín meets Lidia (15), a girl who shoots him in the calf.
This humiliates Joaquín, but it also makes him fall in love. On the way back, passing by a stable, Joaquín unintentionally becomes the protagonist of an incident with an unruly cow that tries to charge at him. Everyone mistakenly reads this as an act of heroism, and Joaquín sees it as an epiphany: his destiny is to become a bullfighter, and he will stage his first bullfight in Huacachina.
